Nonprofit organizations need committed, energetic and action-oriented board members to help with strategic planning, fundraising, program expansion and other important tasks. Board membership can be a satisfying way to serve and is a good way to develop leadership skills.
Respond
- List two or three nonprofit organizations you have supported in the past and learn about their current boards (most nonprofits list their board members on their websites).
- Identify the skills you bring to board membership.
- Contact the Board Chair or Executive Director to begin a conversation.
